Romans

At every hand, there is no peace…no joy. How have we fallen so far so quickly from Your shelter and blessing?

We have let the government impose a godless reign on the country. Our politicians, our media, and our elites have declared there is no place for You in our laws, our culture. our communities. You have in righteousness removed Your protections from us.

We are vulnerable to every deceitful and dark lie that presents itself as the solution. Abandoning Your guidance, we desperately seek answers from a lost and fallen world.

Please shine the light of truth on all the deceit and evil that has overtaken us.

Lord, there are many blinded and confused. Please apply Your mercy and rescue us from the darkness that blinds us.

AMEN

Scripture: “Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. “ Romans 12:21

I know You’re brokenhearted for all those being murdered in America’s inner cities.

Gangs, cartel members and ruthless essentially fatherless young men are destroying innocent lives. Black-on-black homicides have more than doubled in the last 12 months and the savagery continues unabated.

As a result of our loss of respect for the intrinsic value of life, we are seeing unprecedented numbers of innocent people being attacked and killed.

This anger and violence are the product of an American society that has lost its way.

Life is no longer sacred. From the womb to the baby carriage to the schools, to the streets, we deny the sanctity of life at every level.

We seek answers in human wisdom, but only You can end the carnage and bring peace.

AMEN

Scripture: Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Romans 12:17

I am calmed by the knowledge that You’re in charge. I am secure knowing You’ve adopted me into Your eternal family by the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary.

But, if I’m honest, when I see the TV news; when I must deal with the prices of everything climbing beyond reach; when I recognize the power of the social media aligned against the truth; when I experience the divisions among us…I am overwhelmed by the tidal wave of American dysfunction.

But, even as the fear threatens to paralyze me, I remember that though I am not capable of staunching the approaching darkness on my own…I am more than a conqueror when You guide my words and actions.

It is Your presence in me that makes victory possible.

AMEN

Scripture: “Yet, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:37

Each breath I draw is a gift from You. May each day You allow me to reveal the beauty of life to me and the opportunity to share Your love with others.

I’ve been granted many years…but many of our youth’s lives are being cut short by the evil and hopeless darkness that surrounds us on all sides.

Drug overdoses are up 20% in the past 3 years among our children. Life insurance actuarial tables show deaths among our 19–35-year-olds growing at alarming rates. Suicides, overdoses, and undiagnosed medical issues are killing our young.

Those in government responsible display a surprising lack of interest in combatting this tragedy.

Lord, shine a light on this darkness, expose the evildoers, and protect our children from this scourge. Empower the truth.

AMEN

Scripture: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21

You created the universe…and You care for me? How could that be? You love me and have adopted me into Your family… all because of the cross. I am a child of the King. AMAZING!

I am brokenhearted today for America. My country has decided we don’t need you any longer…we have 5G WIFI…the answer to every problem. But, the more connected our social media becomes, the more foolish we seem.

Your church seeks to be “relevant” and has lost its power. Oh, Lord, revive Your true church and give them the wisdom and the boldness to speak the truth.

Restore joy and purpose to the land…heal our divisions and bring us together.

Forgive me when I fail You in this calling. Pick me up, encourage me and send me back into the battle.

AMEN

Scripture: “Professing to be wise they became fools.” Romans 1:22

It is overwhelming to know You have granted me the privilege of coming boldly into Your presence through the sacrifice of Your Son.

It pains me to watch America mock Jesus and debase His sacrificial death. Forgive the careless way I have allowed this to happen.

Please withhold Your righteous judgment and begin the restoration of America. Teach us to honor You, lift up Jesus, and restore Your truth as our guide.

Empower me to become a champion in my family and my workplace for Christ. May my words and actions always reflect well on You. Give me the grace to love others and share your good news.

AMEN

Scripture: “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loves us.” Romans 8:37

In a world of darkness and confusion, it is comforting to know that You are the source of truth and wisdom.

In America, the enemy is redefining existing language to create confusion, mislead and deceive the uninformed.

Those impacted by this deception are those who have drifted away from Your truth and protection and are susceptible to the smooth sounding rhetoric of the lies being propagated by those only interested in sowing seeds of bitterness and division.

Rewriting history, raising victimhood to an art, and replacing logic with the loudest microphone are all designed to win through intimidation.

Teach me to avoid becoming entangled with those engaged in misleading rhetoric designed to further divide us. Help me to show compassion for those so lost and confused.

Uncompromising love overcomes anger.

AMEN

Scripture: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
Romans 5:8

Americans in every walk of life have embraced escapism to find relief from social derangement and hopelessness. Our kids, in large numbers are using drugs…the #1 cause of death among American teens.

Our elites are seeking to resolve the problem with efforts to practice, “Harm Reduction”. It seems a little drug addiction is not too bad.

How is it that our rebellion runs so deep we will sacrifice science and common sense to avoid embracing Your wisdom for a healthy life

Rather than vigorously fight the flow of drugs coming freely into our country and fight addiction with abstinence, we’ve chosen to embrace the drugs and attempt to mitigate their consequences.

Lord, awaken parents and other concerned influencers. Empower them, and me, to develop an effective resistance to this lunacy.

AMEN

Scripture: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

The power of art and literature to influence my soul is amazing. Beauty…an uplifting story well told… empowers my “good angels” and lifts me to a better understanding of the God I serve and His unbelievable creative skills.

Unfortunately, abused to portray evil and the depravity of man, demonic creativity claws the human soul down to our lowest common denominator.

Help me be patient with those trapped by these dark creative forces and hopelessly bound without You. Don’t allow me to sink into this pit of evil, but show me how to bring light to those enslaved in this depravity.

Truth and light always overcome the darkness. Teach me how to overcome evil with goodness. Use me to focus the light of Your love into this cave of hopelessness.

AMEN

Scripture: “Be sincere in your love for others. Hate everything that is evil and hold tight to everything that is good.” Romans 12:9
