Source of All Compassion

We have so convoluted Your word, that we do not understand love or compassion. Today, we spell “love” – “lust” and have come to believe that it is compassionate to remove the consequences of selfish choices…even if others are hurt by our actions.

Loving parents don’t subsidize their children’s illegal drug addiction or praise their lack of integrity or their anti-social behaviors. True love seeks to guide loved ones into the safe harbors of compassion and respect for others.

At least fifteen States Attorney Generals have threatened private businesses with legal repercussions if they don’t stop discriminating against the trans community. In other words, “compassion” now legally requires we embrace anti-God, anti-science to promote individual fantasies.

Rather, help me love those among us locked up in darkness…Please rescue them.

Amen

Scripture: “But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.” Acts 4:19

Author of Ultimate Grace

Before creation You knew I would fall and You had a plan to rescue me from my selfishness and arrogance…it was played out on a cross at Golgotha.

Rather than condemn me for failing, You accepted me when I ask forgiveness. You did not press charges, You extended grace to me and to all who asked and welcomed us into Your home…heaven.

You’ve asked me to demonstrate that grace to others. It’s a grace tinged with innocence…always believing the best in others, forgiving their human failures just as you’ve forgiven mine.

Give me the ability to see the best in others, the courage to be graceful, the unselfishness to overlook even intentional hurts, and a heart of forgiveness.

May the grace they see in me draw them to You.

AMEN

Scripture: “…open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me.” Acts 26:18

God of all Governments

You have instructed us to pray for our governing officials, and I come to you in obedience today.

I pray for my state government…its executive, legislative, and judicial servants. May they serve the people and govern in a manner that protects liberty and virtue. I also pray for public servants in my local government. May they all heed your mandate to be God’s servants and use their influence for the good of the public.

They govern in difficult times. May they receive wisdom from You, and may Your grace be poured out on them.

Protect us from oppressive authority and help us to value and preserve freedom, which You have provided. Help me to show the respect due our elected leaders while having the courage to speak truth to power.

AMEN

Scripture: “I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free.” Acts 7:34

Creator of all Knowledge

To fill the emptiness at the center of our existence, America has turned to science to answer the essential questions of life.

But, science is limited to the observable. If truth is beyond natural law…if it is supernatural…then science can do no more than stand in awe of that great beyond. Science has no answer for “Why do I exist?” …a roll of the dice is insufficient. Science has no answer for the origins of the universe…the big bang is unsatisfactory. Science has no answer for the existence of a “moral law” that separates us from the animals. The answer for the emptiness in the soul of America…and all the other questions science cannot resolve is found in a single word: GOD.

Thank You for filling my empty center and providing the answer to what lies beyond science.

AMEN

Scripture: “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands.” Acts 17:24
