Father of love and unity

I am eternally grateful that You do not play favorites. You have invited everyone to join You at the family table. You offer a banquet feast for all who will join You.
But today in America, we are divided so badly, mutual respect seem impossible to achieve.

The enemy has been so successful in sowing seeds of distrust and anger among us that pursuing our national motto “From many, one” seems a fool’s errand.

I know the truth, yet sometimes I find it very difficult to remember we don’t wrestle against those with whom we disagree, but with the prince of darkness who has blinded them.

Without compromise, let me be a peacekeeper and team builder in these dark times.

Scripture: “A kind answer soothes angry feelings, but harsh words stir them up.” Proverbs 15:1

Creator and Boss of the Universe

There is no one bigger than You or less worthy than me…but still You’ve gone out of Your way to give me access to Your throne room. Why I don’t know…except You display a crazy love for me. Thank You is so inadequate!

America needs You badly…we have lost contact with reality and descended into a make believe world where truth is whatever the narrative needs it to be. We try desperately to avoid the consequences of bad choices…yet we believe we’re entitled to Your blessings. We ignore our failures and mock Your salvation.

I don’t know how we can be restored to sanity…only You know. Please do not give up on us.
Give me the wisdom and courage to speak Your truth into a dark corner of the world!

Scripture: “A hard worker has plenty of food but a person who chases fantasies ends up in poverty.” Proverbs 28:19

Thank You for making provision for my sin. By the blood of Calvary I now have You on my speed dial…AND, You always answer. Your love for the human race is unbelievable…You died for us!

Most teachers are dedicated and loving, but they are being overwhelmed by forces of darkness and deceit. For more than 2 years now our children have been abandoned, forced to wear unhealthy masks, and groomed for destruction.

Please intervene on the children’s behalf. End the cruel and misguided policies dominating so many of our public schools. I am thankful for the parents across the country standing up for their children…I know You brought that to be. Thank You…but continue to shine Your pure light on this because there is more to do.

Guide me to become all You created me to be…and to share Your love with others each day.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6

Creator and Savior

Because of Christ’s sacrifice, You offer me forgiveness, hope, and security. You hear me when I call…thank You!

I despair for America today. She has become as hedonistic as any culture in history…she has lost her bearings. There is no absolute truth. Boys are girls. Right is wrong. up is down.

Emotions control us and “I”, “me” and “Mine” reign victorious while the church cowers in the corner.

Father, revive Your bride! Make Your voice heard again across this land. Forgive us and rescue us from this foreboding darkness.

Please give me an opportunity today to share Your hope with someone in need.

“Deliver those who are being taken away to death, and those staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back.”
Proverbs 24:11

My Redeemer

That You would forgive my sin is overwhelming…and to know You hear me when I call on You is an unmerited blessing.

My country, in the boldest and most demeaning manner, has discarded Your word, exchanging it for the foolishness of man. We stumble forward following the latest social media influencer. We are headed into a cavern of darkness and deceit. Our only hope is You…yet we continue to believe Silicon Valley can provide us peace and prosperity. We only find more emptiness…please rescue us and set our feet on solid ground.

Give me the strength to do what I know is right today…and may I be a lighthouse for Your Kingdom.

“But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.”
Proverbs 4:18

Dear Heavenly Father

I come before you today humbled by the opportunity to have access to your throne and secure in the knowledge that you welcome me with grace and love.

I am concerned for America. She has lost her way. Darkness and evil seem to be winning. We need your light to reveal the depravity we have embraced and we need your truth to find our way. Show yourself as powerful and restrain the enemy.

I need your strength and wisdom. Please help me represent your love and grace to those who need you today. May I be salt and light to those I meet in the course of my everyday routine.

“For the Lord grants wisdom. From His mouth comes knowledge and understanding.”
Proverbs 2:6

God is Listening; Speak Up

It is a sad truth that many (most?) believers consider prayer the last option in a crisis or life issue. All too often, we turn first to the other readily available sources; friends, TV, pop psychology, the latest trends in culture…all usually offering worldly, secular answers on finances; relationships; parenting; dependency issues…the list is endless. Somehow we’ve lost sight of the many promises in Scripture which advise us to make God our first and only option for solving life’s complex and troubling issues. Here is just a taste of what God has promised (all from the NLT):

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God everything (tell Him what’s on your mind). Tell God what you need and thank Him for all he’s done. If you do you will experience God’s peace…” (Philippians 4:6-7a)”

“The godly will rejoice in the Lord and find shelter in Him…” (Psalms 64:10a)

“The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayers of the righteous (His children)” (Proverbs 15:29)

“If any of you need wisdom—if you want to know what God wants you to do—ask Him and He will gladly tell you. He will not resent you asking. But when you ask Him, be sure you really expect Him an answer…” (James 1:5-6a)

But, He expects to be your final authority.

God hears the petitions (prayers) of His children…He desires only our best, whether its for ourselves, our families or our communities. He is better than any helpline you can call, cares more than any counselor you can find…and He is never too busy.
