Lord of All Power

As I pray brokenhearted for America, I’m reminded of wisdom handed down to me by those wiser than me:

“Don’t spit into the wind.”
“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”
“It’s wise to respect the one who holds your destiny.”

Father, we Americans have become the biggest fools on the planet. We act as if You can be mocked…disregarded…disrespected without consequences. We strut and preen and declare we no longer are bound by the ancient (immutable) truths of Your word…we are free to decide for ourselves what boundaries, if any, exist.

Forgive me when I act as if You do not matter. Your patience with us is incomprehensible. We don’t deserve Your forgiveness. But. Please don’t abandon us in our arrogance.

AMEN

Scripture: “Stop being deceived; God is not to be ridiculed. A person harvests whatever he plants…” Galatians 6:7

King of No Surprises

Even the best intended plans growing from human wisdom contain unintended consequences. Pharmaceuticals devise vaccines that are better than natural immunity boosted by natural products…only they aren’t…people died and continue to die mysteriously…an unintended consequence.

Throughout history, mankind has been convinced we can manage things ourselves only to discover over and over we cannot. You’ve never been surprised by an unintended consequence. You have designed boundaries to keep us safe…You have warned us of the deadly consequences of pursuing our own agenda’s.

You have never been wrong…we have never been right…but we insist on listening to the foolishness of men and rejecting Your loving wisdom. Lord, by whatever means, get our attention…shine a light in our darkness. Turn us from certain death to hope and life.

AMEN
