God of Encouragement

When I’m discouraged or frightened You encourage me. When I fail, You give me the courage to try again. With You I cannot fail…without You I cannot succeed.

At America’s founding, You were the courage behind our independence. In Philadelphia, You were the inspiration behind the Constitution. Throughout our history, You have encouraged men and women to dare the unknown…You disciplined America for slavery…but You didn’t abandon us. Throughout our history, we have braved great things and mankind is better for it. But America today has turned from You…and we no longer have the courage to be free to attempt great things. We seek “safe spaces” and cower from the bullies among us.

Please encourage us again to stand for honor and human dignity. Lord, restore in America the courage to be free.

AMEN

Scripture: “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
